Bank Burglaries Arrest

The Statesboro Police Department has made an arrest in the investigation of the recent bank burglaries.  Detective Ben Purvis and Detective Sergeant James Winskey arrested Darrell Demond Hunter on 11/27/2013 in Claxton, GA with the assistance of Sheriff Randall Tippins and the Evans County Sheriff’s Office.  Hunter is charged with 4 burglaries.

On the day before Thanksgiving the Statesboro Police Department received forensic evidence from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation lab that connected Hunter to the Farmer’s and Merchants burglary.  Through further investigation Hunter was located in Claxton and taken into custody.  This case is still under investigation.
